The Surface Fun Facts

The Story:

• The Surface theme song was originally not created for the series. Red created the song roughly a year before The Surface, and it was about her experiences with the bullying she endured in high school.

• The Surface takes place in Britain, but originally, we had no idea where we wanted it to take place. However, most of the voice actors had British accents, so Red thought it would be fitting for it to take place there.

• In the script, we wanted to add a multitude of cultures and ethnicities to the series because most Gacha content is very white based, and we as a team want to validate minorities.

The School:

• The North Brook High mascot is the timber wolf

• Their school colors are blue, gray, black, and white

• North Brook High is a small private school, with roughly 500 students

The Characters:

• Nathan lived in Mexico until he was five before he was adopted.

• Mr. Moore was present during the 9/11 attack and it traumatized him severely.

• Kira is a gifted student and has an IQ of 145. She has grown up in Britain all her life.

• Nurse Heather escaped to Britain as a child to avoid life-threatening issues in her homeland, Nigeria. She is now happily married and loves her job.

• Lola and Jake are half-siblings

• Ruthie has high functioning autism

• Kye is ADHD
